Chief Executive Officer
Role: Rick is responsible to the Board of Directors for the strategic direction of the Marin Builders Association. He is responsible for all management, business planning, operations and finances.
Professional: Rick specializes in building sustainable organizations. His focus is building connected and vibrant teams focused on results. He has lead teams at the San Rafael and Vallejo Chambers of Commerce.
Other: Rick has undergraduate degrees from Orange Coast College and the University of California, Davis. He earned a Masters of Business Administration in Sustainable Management from Presidio Graduate School in San Francisco. He holds multiple professional certifications in organizational management. For nearly 10 years Rick was an active mentor with Big Brothers/Big Sisters of the North Bay.
Personal: Rick lives in Novato with his wife, 2 children and their adopted dog. He grills a pretty good pork chop, bakes a decent pecan pie, works on projects around his home, and plays golf occasionally.
Favorite Part about Working with the Marin Builders Association: I am always learning about ways to improve personally and professionally from our team, our Board, and our members.
Director of Membership and Business Development
Role: Christine is responsible to the Chief Executive Officer for the business development of the Marin Builders Association. She works to develop and implement our outreach to new members while enhancing our current members’ understanding of our services. She assists with marketing and promotion and is responsible for the coordination and success of our programs and premier events.
Professional: Prior to arriving at the Marin Builders Association, Christine worked in property management for Lipnosky Real Estate, LLC of the East Bay, East Blithedale Associates of Mill Valley and The Shorenstein Company of San Francisco. Her property management background has expanded her understanding and appreciation of the construction industry and its impact on the community. She prides herself in her ability to communicate, problem solve and effect change.
Other: Christine has an undergraduate degree from the University of California at Los Angeles (GO BRUINS!). She graduated magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa with a degree in Economics.
Personal: Christine grew up in San Francisco but has lived in Terra Linda for over 25 years. She is the proud mother of two adult sons, both of whom graduated from Terra Linda High School. Her oldest son Matthew recently graduated from NYU and is living in New York, working in the field of film and theatre production. Her younger son Trevor currently attends University of California at Santa Barbara and is studying Economics. Besides cherishing and visiting her sons, Christine enjoys running, yoga, hiking, the beach, music, good film and a great book.
Favorite Part about Working with the Marin Builders Association: I am invigorated by doing great things with great people. My favorite thing is to connect people who would benefit from knowing one another. I love to make the world smaller and more productive!
Role: Responsible for management of front office and staff. Perform all administrative duties including membership dues billing, AR/AP, member events co-ordination, Scholarship Program and seminars. In addition I provide assistance and support to the Marin Builders Association Board, committees, staff, accountant, bookkeeper, members and business partners.
Professional: community banking, Marin Builders Association Assistant General Manager 1996-2010, administration of group health insurance program
Other: Neighborhood “Ready Marin” host and volunteer
Personal: I am a Marin County native currently living in Corte Madera. I graduated from Marin Catholic High School. I am the mother of three sons. My oldest son was lost in a tragic accident in July 2011. I have two granddaughters and one grandson. I enjoy the outdoors, hiking, warm weather, beaches, gardening and spending time with my family and friends.
My Favorite Part about Working with the Marin Builders Association: I enjoy the diversity of my responsibilities and am excited about being a part of the Marin Builders Association moving on the next level.
Administrative and Marketing Assistant
Role: Gabriela is responsible for ensuring a well oiled process of communication between members and staff. Her role consists of various administrative and marketing duties, such as, reception, online plan room maintenance, website updating, etc.
Professional: Gabriela comes from a customer service, sales and marketing background, having worked most recently as a concierge at The Carneros Inn and Spa in Napa. She enjoys being of service to her community while building and nurturing relationships.
Accomplishments/Community Service/Volunteer Activities: Gabriela received an undergraduate degree from UCLA with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a minor in Spanish. She continues to enjoy her volunteer position as co-leader of Girl Scout Troop 32053. She has helped her girls grow for 13 years from young kindergartners to leaders in high school.
Personal: Gabriela was born in Buenos Aries, Argentina and she is fluent in Spanish. She has been married to her partner-in-crime, Bill Shea for 23 years. They are fortunate to have two lovely children, Brenton (21) and Jillian (17). The Sheas are long time residents of Marin and they have enjoyed living in Marinwood the past 20 years. They extensively added on and remodeled their house in 2010 working with a dedicated team of professionals. They were highly pleased with the experience and the result was well worth it. Gabriela enjoys hiking with her husband, cooking for her family and friends, having a leisurely chat with her son and visiting art galleries or museums with her daughter. Other favorite activities include yoga, cycling, reading and traveling.
Favorite Part about Working with the Marin Builders Association: What could be better than working with people you enjoy and admire, while providing a valuable service in an engaging environment? My job is not work, it's simply something I enjoy doing!

Professional Duties or Role with the Marin Builders Association: Government Affairs and Special Projects
Professional Experience: Casey is the Vice President of Mazzoni & Associates, Inc., a boutique consulting firm. They specialize in public affairs and advocacy. Their current client list includes companies, local and state wide with advocacy needs in education, resource management, health care and land use.
Accomplishments/Community Service/Volunteer Activities: Casey is currently the Vice President of the Sonoma Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Chair of the San Rafael Chamber of Commerce Governmental Affairs Committee.
Personal Information: Casey graduated from San Francisco State University with Bachelor of Arts in Broadcasting, with an emphasis in News Production. In her free time Casey enjoys traveling, food and wine, anything outdoors and spending time with her family and friends.
