Update from the President
Message from the Board President - John Busick
On behalf of the Marin Builders Association Board of Directors, I want to welcome you to our Association. I’m honored to serve as the 2017 President, and look forward to working with all of you to make 2017 a very productive and prosperous year. Exciting things are happening over here, and we are thrilled to have you join us.
Over the last few years, our organization has changed and grown in many ways. We’ve added over 100 new members and are proud to boast an 85% + membership retention rate, formed exciting new partnerships, developed and hosted dozens of successful events, and surpassed the $1 million mark for our scholarship fund. We are in the ongoing process of revamping operations with new publications and website in order to best serve the needs of our members, our industry and our community.
I want to take a moment to recognize our 2016 President, Tom Barr from Ghilotti Bros Construction. Tom has been instrumental in advancing the Marin Builders Association in several capacities. Tom has handled some challenging issues on behalf of our members with creativity, diplomacy and professionalism. On behalf of our entire Board of Directors, we thank him for his tireless dedication to the the association and the Marin construction industry at large.
In 2017, we want to strengthen our connection with you and make our relationship more meaningful. By this I mean, continuing to add value, making time to listen to your concerns, and finding out about your needs. We have real resources to help your business grow, solve problems, and connect with other industry professionals.
We will work to ensure that you get the most out of your membership investment by providing you opportunities for education, training, and networking. We’re in the process of creating a new remodeling division where we plan to host industry related trainings, and well attended peer-to-peer connection and educational opportunities.
We are committed to your success, and look forward to a great year. We want to hear from you – so please do not hesitate to contact me, our staff, or any Board member with a question, comment, or concern.
